See an archaeological dig happening live at Hartlebury Castle!

From Saturday 6th-Saturday 13th July, Dig Hartlebury and Explore the Past hope to discover more about the Castle’s lost Civil War defences with more excavations! The dig onsite last year confirmed the existence of a defensive bastion in the grounds, and now they aim to find evidence of the stories behind it and its original use.

Come along for free and speak to the archaeologists about their fascinating work – you might even see finds being uncovered!

On Saturday 13th July, you can also learn more about the dig on their special Open Day and enjoy history brought to life with the Sealed Knot.

This dig is a joint project between Dig Hartlebury and Explore the Past, which has been generously funded by Wychavon District Council as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations.

Tickets

Free entry (for the dig only – standard admission required for entry to the Castle and grounds).
