What is pottage?
If you’re looking to get a taste of medieval food, you can’t get much more fitting than pottage! A thick stew made from a base of vegetables and grains, it remained a staple food for the majority of populations. Only the most privileged could afford meat in their pottage and some also chose to flavour it with spices. You too can enjoy this hearty and delicious meal at our wonderful Medieval Banquet.
