Feed your curiosity at Hartlebury Castle!

This early May bank holiday, delve deeper into the Castle’s fascinating history – get the chance to view unseen items and hear untold stories from its past with friends of the Castle bringing your visit to life.

Included for FREE in your whole site admission ticket:

  • Discover curious items on display for the first time – belonging to our Bishops and donated from across the world!
  • Get the kids back to nature with Really Rural as you play games and create wild art, inspired by the grounds’ smaller residents.
  • Take a peek underground with Dig Hartlebury to see the findings of archaeological excavations on site.
  • Handle historic artefacts and get closer to the 1950s.
  • Explore our connections to World War I as you find out about the soldiers who recuperated here, talk to the local branch of the Western Front Association about their war artefacts and remember the fallen World War I nurses.
  • Uncover mystery objects and ask ‘what is it?’, ‘how is it connected to the Bishops of Worcester?’, or ‘how did that end up at Hartlebury Castle?’
  • Experience mini guided tours of the state rooms and grounds and gardens with our knowledgeable volunteers.
  • Meet the head cook and see what delicious treats she’s been making from the Castle cookbook!
  • Step back in time with our historic photograph trail and walk in the shoes of characters from our past – why not dress up or have a go at croquet?

Plus, if you have any items at home relating to the Castle or our history, please bring them with you on the day as we’d love to see them and hear your stories!

Where will your curiosity take you?

Experience all of this with a standard whole site admission ticket – plus, you can still explore the Castle and grounds for a bank holiday to remember for all ages.
