Sessions

It’s a lot easier to hunt for eggs as a young child when you’ve not got a load of big kids running around and grabbing them first! The Under 5s egg hunt sessions are for toddlers and young children where the pace is a bit slower, ensuring there are still plenty of eggs to be found.

If you would prefer to sign up your little one to a general egg hunt session time (eg if they have an older sibling) instead, you are welcome to do so.

Please note, children aged 5 and over are NOT allowed on this session.

Our general sessions are open for all children. Line up at the starting point in the Sunken Garden, warm up with the Easter Bunny and on your marks, get set, go! Expect music, laughter and lots of ‘there’s one!’.

Egg Hunts aren’t just for kids – now it’s your turn! Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, older sibling over 16 or friend, this is your chance to see how many eggs you can find.  Collect the eggs, see what’s inside them – empty, chocolate treats, or Easter jokes worthy of a Christmas cracker and reward yourself with your chocolate egg prize.

All this egg hunting is hard work, so maybe pop to the cafe afterwards for a cup of coffee, can of coke, or even a beer (obviously only if you’re over 18).

*This session has been cancelled due to lack of interest.

Our quiet session is a calmer event with a relaxed atmosphere and fewer egg hunters. There will be no loud shouting, music or microphones and is open to children of all ages. We’ve been liaising with Museums Worcestershire and neurodivergent Castle volunteers, to ensure that your child will experience the best event possible.

The Easter Bunny will be in the Carriage Circle, providing optional egg hunt activities (eg warm up with star jumps and stretches). The Easter Bunny is a silent costumed character.

The quiet session runs until 11am, after which, other members of the public can come in. We will have a quiet area available throughout the day for you inside the Castle.

We’ll email information out in advance of the event, including a visual storyboard, so that your child can familiarise themselves with the event. This will include a step-by-step guide to what will be taking place where, and how the egg hunt will run. Key facilities, for example the toilets, will be well signposted on the day to make finding your way around the site simple. You can also find our site accessibility guide to plan your visit around the Castle by clicking here.

*This session has been cancelled due to lack of interest.

The Level Access Egg Hunt is open to children of all ages and ensures that all eggs are hidden in areas that are accessible without needing to use steps. Start your Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny, and then on your marks, get set, go! Explore the Carriage Circle, Castle Terrace, Queen Elizabeth Walk and other spaces as you hunt for the eggs.

Surfaces on the hunt vary and include tarmac, gravel and grass. Music and microphones will also be in use. To read Hartlebury Castle’s full accessibility guide, please click here.

Egg hunt sessions outside of this time slot contain steps and use of the Sunken Garden. Eggs will still be on the Castle Terrace and Queen Elizabeth walk which has level access.
