The performance will now take place in the Castle’s historic Medieval Great Hall, due to unforeseen circumstances.

Step into the roaring 1920s, where the champagne flows, the jazz trumpet blows, and the American Dream gleams with irresistible allure.

This electrifying stage adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s timeless novel brings Jay Gatsby’s glittering world to life — a place of opulence, obsession, and heartbreak.

As Nick Carraway is drawn into the orbit of his mysterious neighbor, the secrets behind Gatsby’s lavish parties begin to unravel, revealing a story of love lost and illusion pursued.

Featuring live music and a dynamic ensemble, This Is My Theatre’s adaptation invites audiences to experience one of literature’s best-loved stories like never before — glamorous, grandiose and undeniably…Great.

About This Is My Theatre

Founded in 2016 by Artistic Director Sarah Slator, This Is My Theatre prides itself on producing classical plays and literary adaptations that are accessible for all audiences, particularly those living in rural communities. We work with our venues in tailoring our productions to the spaces they are to be performed within – be they large or little – to create atmospheric theatre in beautiful settings that provide magical experiences for our wonderful audiences.

We are a Sussex-based company that tours all across the country taking our productions to a variety of spaces – from churches to cafes, cathedrals to car parks and care homes to coastal forts. We regularly work with charities and heritage sites with proceeds from our shows going towards the upkeep, maintenance and restoration of the fantastic spaces we are so fortunate to visit.

And there have been some pretty magical moments along the way, including a performance of Jane Austen’s Persuasion in the grounds of the manor that inspired her works or managing to incorporate a real-life steam engine into several showings of The Railway Children, or how about a production of Robin Hood…in Sherwood Forest itself!

We love the work that we do and cannot wait to bring our Summer 2026 production of The Great Gatsby to audiences across the country!
